Last week in Tech arts I learnt how to make a key ring and a spinning top out of plastic. First you need to pick your colour plastic, then cut it out, drill a hole in it and finally add a split ring. In maths I also learnt how to find equivalent fractions. We also learnt how to turn improper fractions to mixed numbers, and mixed numbers to improper fractions. We also learnt how to simplify fractions.
In writing we learnt how to set out a book review, and how to write it. We also did that with argument writing. For inquiry, you had to do a lot of research on a top you wanted. I chose a child. You had to make a visual presentation. We also did a lot on apostrophes, like whether you should add the apostrophe after the s or add apostrophe s.

Week 6, Term 2
Last week I learnt how to convert fractions into decimals and to convert decimals into fractions. We did more on apostrophes as well, but focusing on hyphenated ones and time and days. In tech arts I learnt how to make my light up letter, and now I just need to learn how to make the base and the switch. I learnt you have to have a line for positive and a line for negative with your copper tape, and have a path for the electricity to flow down. I also learnt how to properly set out an argument and how to write a report.

Weeks 4&5, Term 2
The past two weeks we were focusing on decimals and fractions. We did a test on them and then did practice work on what we didn't know. I learnt how to multiply and divide with decimals using the algorithms. We also learnt about apostrophes in English. If it belongs to something singular, it's apostrophe s, but if it's plural it's just an apostrophe. We also did ICAS science. I tech arts we made a simple practice circuit. I learnt what the national symbols were switch and battery, and also how to use a soldering iron.
